The week ending 30th of January 2021 was very good for Ghana music. There were some new singles that were released from rappers like Amerado that got social media talking with Teephlow also releasing his PhlowEducation 2 tape.

After recently announcing that he has signed a partnership deal with Empire and MadeinENY, Kidi has been seen in a very intimate video with Big brother Naija star Nengi.

Nengi who is in Ghana for a visit looked very comfortable with Kidi, one will think that the two know each other before she visited Ghana.

At a time where the world is battling a deadly pandemic, Ghanaian rapper Opanka has some words of inspiration for music lovers on his new Extended Play (EP) titled ‘Elevation’.

The sensational rapper features some top artistes on the EP which includes award-winning Reggae and Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, songwriter Kofi Kinaata and rising music sensation Bosom P-Yung.

The five-track EP is a suspenseful sound package which music lovers can relate to in their daily lives.

For example the ‘Trying Times’ tune has created a buzz on social media as Opanka was caught crying on camera while delivering a freestyle during the EP listening.

He talks about the challenges one goes through in life and seeks to elevate their spirits with some motivational lyrical vibes.

He followed up with ‘Anigye’ featuring Bosom P-Yung in a song which seeks to inspire and would be an irresistible tune for music lovers.

Opanka’s ‘Eka Aba Fie’ featuring Shatta Wale and ‘Hold On’ featuring Kofi Kinaata have already made waves since their release last year.

Opanka ends the EP with ‘Deliver Me’ as he seeks respite from the challenges in life.

Gidochi, the perpetually creative Ghanaian artist in an interview has explained that the context of his music making is not limited to the borders of Ghana, but also aimed at finding global audience.  

On Wednesday 27th January 2021, Gidochi took to his social media pages to announce a 3-day media tour  in Kumasi (the capital city of Ashanti Region) as part of his plans to promote his debut EP ‘Mixed  Feelings’ and an attempt to also attract new fans/listeners in the city.

In his first radio interview at Kumasi on Akoma Fm, the host of the Drive show ‘Tony Best’ asked why Gidochi’s music sounds very different and foreign despite the use of native language. 

In response to that, the X’tra X’tra Love ((XX L) singer explained that the local genre of music will always remain special because it resonates with the natives. 
However, he believes that irrespective of the genre, music add immense value to people’s lives, so there is the need for music to transcend across the globe. So even though he is locally based and does Afro-soul and other afro-related music, his choice of sound is for global consumption. 
This he believes will give the opportunity to people in other parts of the world to appreciate his unique type of Afro-music . 

Listeners who called into the show also praised Gidochi for his melodious  voice and urged him to keep up with his current sound and approach to music content.

Gidochi is expected to complete his Kumasi  media tour on Saturday January 30th, 2021.

Dancehall musician, Shatta Wale, has bought himself another mansion at Embassy Gardens. 

The mansion is said to be valued at $200,000, he also acquired a brand new yellow Range Rover in less than two weeks now. The “1Don” composer flaunted his newly acquired mansion on his YouTube channel.

Gospel musician, Cecilia Marfo, has spoken for the first time after she snatched the microphone from Joyce Blessing at a peace concert in Kumasi. 

The action Cecilia Marfo took really got majority of people upset hence lambasting her for her action. However, she came to Accra FM studios to speak about the issue for the first time. According to her, people are rather dashing her money when they see her in town. 

“When I’m walking in town, people bless me especially men. When people see me preaching in town, they dash me money. People have dashed me cedis, dollars, cheques, among other things”, she said. Cecilia Marfo refused to comment on the main issue with Joyce Blessing hence saying it’s past and gone.

Michelle Diamond popularly known as Shatta Michy has disclosed the Ghanaian politician she will date. 

Speaking in an interview on Angel FM with Okyeame Quofi, the mother of one said she will date former MP for Tema West Constituency because he has speed. “If you could take a date with a Ghanaian politician, who would it be?, the host asked.

Young Rapper Kweku Smoke after beeing in the Ghanaian music industry has been roped in a lot controversies with other rappers and some some a list artists like Shatta Wale.

The artist is also not one to back down from a tough fight, dropping diss songs like King Dave to throw shots at people he had disagreements with.

However Kweku Smoke has been preaching repentance and positivity for the new year with no negative energy around. Here are five things Kweku Smoke has done to prove that he wants only positivity.
