Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr was acquainted and discharged with the murder of a member of the BY YOURSELF gang during a shootout in Los Angeles.
25th August 1995 – Doug Stegmeyer
Bassist and singer Doug Stegmeyer shot himself dead at his home. Before his death, Doug was always busy recording and producing songs with Billy Joel, Debby Gibson, and the like. He also featured on albums like Glass Houses, 52nd Street, The Stranger, and The Nylon Curtain.
25th August 2000 – Jack Nitzsche
Award-winning songwriter and composer Jack Nitzsche died of a heart attack. He is best known for working with Rolling Stones and Neil Young. He also composed songs in movies like Performance, One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, and The Exorcist.
25th August 2001 – Aaliyah
On August 25, 2001, a light aircraft crashed after takeoff killing all those on board. One of the passengers on board was an R&B singer Aaliyah. Aaliyah is best known for hits like Try Again, Rock The Beat, and One In A Million.
25th August 2010 – The Beetles
Unseen photographs of the Beetles were on display at the Victoria Gallery & Museum in Liverpool, England. The pictures included images of the Beatles performing at a concert in Germany.
25th August 2014 – Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelins ‘Whole Lotta Love’ was voted as the greatest riff of all time. The rock classic held off stiff competition from Angus and Malcolm Young’s intro riff to Back in Black and Randy Rhode’s riff to Crazy Train.
