Reggie Rockstone decided to fuse a mixture of Highlife, Hip-hop beats, and the Ghanaian dialect to begin a whole new genre of music. His efforts earned him the title “The Godfather of Hiplife”
Reggie Rockstone was born in England and joined the PLZ group. In the mid-’90s, he returned to Ghana to perform with the Jungle Brothers. He released his first studio album, MakaaMaka, in the late ‘90s which blossomed his musical career. He later nurtured a lot of artists in Ghana and paved the way for Ghanaian artists to be recognized across the globe. In 2014, Reggie Rockstone won the Kora Award for the best African video.
