ORIGINALS: Congrats Sarkodie on Your Writing CAMP – Here are 6 thing We Noticed.

Africa cum to Ghana’s most decorated rapper Sarkodie known in real life as Michael Owusu Addo held a writing camp in Ghana. The camp saw the likes of Nigerian star Zlatan, Rex on the beat, Nana Fofie together with other producers in attendance.

Sarkodie is probably working on a new album, check out him and Zlatan from Nigeria recording.

A post shared by NanaYaw Wiredu(18) (@iamnanayaw18) on Oct 6, 2020 at 4:19pm PDT

The writing camp also brought unity between artists in Ghana as almost every artist of our time was at this camp to either record, help create music or collaborate with another artist.

This Unity between @killbeatzgh @sarkodie @iamkingpromise and all the guys is just beautiful. So damn beautiful. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

So what is a writing camp?

For those of you who don’t know what songwriting camp is, well, it’s a gathering of producers and top liners in a pre-selected location for the purpose of cross pollenating creativity and writing. A camp can last for a few days or a week or longer.

If the above definition for a writing camp is anything to go by then we will say it is the music form of a corporate retreat. These camps in the past are often organized by labels who want an album written for an artist.

At Sarkodie’s writing camp, we saw a lot of artists recording with different artist and the whole music mood created was something the industry needed to boost Mojoe of musicians especially in this Covid 19 era.

Music and musicians were hugely hit with this pandemic as many had to return performance booking fees to agents due to the pandemic so a camp of this nature could not have come at a better time for our African artists and producers.

Let us share a few of the things you might have missed from the camp.

  1. At the Camp, Sarkodie brought together 2/3 of the whole music industry. A picture of every artist at the writing camp showed that there was unity among our musicians and they had fun.

The ladies were not left out. At the writing camp we saw our female stars for the first time bonding. Sefa, Efya, Mzvee, others had their best time at this writing camp. 7 out of 10  of the time this things happen without our female stars present so to see them been involved made us happy.

The Camp brought together some of the continent’s best producers such as Rex on the beat, kill beatz just to list a few. The co-production power behind some of the songs we will hear when these records come out will  obviously blow our minds.

Writing skills improvement. We saw from the pictures and short videos how Sarkodie and other artists were always with every artist before they recorded their music. We saw Sarkodie with the ladies where he spent time in listening to them before they recorded. We hoping that this will influence our music in a great way as we go back to been lyrically strong again.

Teaching of branding and Imaging as an artist. For every artist that had the chance to spend some time with Sarkodie, we are expecting that they would have learnt a thing or two about how to make a brand solid. All the videos and pictures released from the camp were properly cut and treated for the glam. Some times the music cannot speak but the images will do a lot of talking.

Freedom: we saw how Sarkodie for the first was dancing a lot. A video of himself and King Promise got social media buzzing – that means there was freedom of creation at the camp. Artists had lot of freedom to do what they want to do and hopefully it reflects on the music.

ORIGINALS: How Kelvynboy’s “Black Star” Album Might Sound – Our Guessing Playlist.

Ghana’s Afrobeat singer Kelvynboy is set to release his debut album he titles Black Star.

30/10/2020 #TheBlackStarAlbum 🇬🇭 🌍!!Let The Countdown Begin 🦅 🦅!!

A post shared by BLACK STAR ⭐️ (@kelvynboymusic_) on Oct 13, 2020 at 7:05am PDT

The former signee of Ghana’s Afro-dancehall artist Stonebwoy has over the years championed the Afrobeats genre in Ghana  by not only releasing music in that genre but has vocally open up about it.

The story of Ghana’s Kelvynboy is really inspiring. The young’s man move to stardom was not a rosy one as he was known as the guy who sounded just like Nigerian singer Wizkid.

A post shared by BLACK STAR ⭐️ (@kelvynboymusic_) on Sep 26, 2020 at 1:34pm PDT

The latter became a bit worrying but the Afrobeat star handled the press really well and since then fans a re warming up to the fact that he just has a voice similar to another artist but not that he is copying any one.

Kelvynboy also migrated from been a singer in a band to mainstream music. He has faced many challenges including his recent fall out with former boss Stonebwoy of which he managed to get a huge break through song titled: “yawa no dey” featuring rapper 101 and Ghanaian Mc M.anifest.

So after all the ups and down., the Ghanaian afrobeat singer has chalked huge success with so many songs and collaborations including the most shocking one with Wendy Shay since they both had a little misunderstanding some time back.

It is however not surprising that the Ghanaian star wants to drop a body of work. His title Black Star- to us simply means the one to watch now and in the future.

The phrase ‘Black Star’ is a big deal in Ghana as Ghana’s national football teams all have the word ‘Star’ attached to it. We also know that the Sun is the closet star to Earth, meaning Kelvynboy is the ‘shinning’ artist from Ghana to watch out.

Since the announcement of his album on his social media, the “black Star” of Ghanaian music kelvynboy has been releasing teasing videos and updates ahead of the tape.

Ghana’s Bosom P-Yung uses Green to define his new stage With New Tape Acheampong Boys (A review)

Even though his break through into mainstream music came as a mockery in the beginning stages, Ghanaian Traditional trap artist Bosom P-Yung has since left “Ataa Adwoa” to focus on his music career and he is killing.

Bipobiso Life is HighLife 🦎. styled @michael_stylo |

A post shared by New KrataFa📖 (@pyung_bosom) on Oct 6, 2020 at 5:23pm PDT

The rapper cum singer based in Ghana has said it over a thousand times that he is here to stay through hit singles such as “Odo Ndwom”, “Berma music”, “GyimiGyimi”I and “Foss Dior.”

P-Yung as his fellow artist friends call him has also made his presence and authority as the only artiste in Ghana with a traditional trap vibe in a lot of collaborations.

In some collaboration songs like Emergency with  Wendy Shay, Asa bone with Lord Paper, Dw3 remix with Mr. Drew and Krymi, Bosom P-Yung shows not just lyrical dexterity but also versatility.

The level of attention Bosom P-Yung pays his music is proven in his new stars featured EP, Acheampong Boys.

For the first time in our history, a viral sensation is really proving that he has what it takes to take Ghanaian trap music to major music platforms in the world.

OneplayAfrica had the chance to listen to the Acheampong Boys by P-Yung(just like how he calls himself sometimes) and the feedback from the team and writers was amazing.

This is a review of the tape.

Let us start off with the name of the tape. I mean, Every Ghanaian music follower knows the name Acheampong. The legendary musician who is still alive and ruled his era with  hi-life music and was in a music group with Daddy Lumba is called Nana Acheampong.

The choice of name for the tape obviously shows that Prince Ofori musically known as Bosom P-Yung had an idea for greatness.

Now, let us talk about the color choice for the tape – GREEN.

View this post on Instagram

GreeN

A post shared by New KrataFa📖 (@pyung_bosom) on Oct 6, 2020 at 1:57am PDT

Green is the color of nature. It symbolize growth, harmony, freshness, and fertility. Green has strong emotional correspondence with safety. Dark green is also commonly associated with money.

Bosom P-Yung is simply trying to say that he is grown, matured and will always stay fresh but he is also about his money.

The color choice reflects in the music he on the tape.

The songs on the tape are well arranged from the theme song Acheampong boys featuring Kweku Smoke, to Meni TII with Medikal, down to Bang which also features Joey B will keep you stuck to the tape.

Bosom P-Yung featuring Kwesi Arthur Adabi establishes the fact that P-Yung is still not over Ataa Adwoa because in the song he tries to get the lady to tell her BFF that it is over, (hmm).

Acheampong Boys is a well produced tape by Bosom P -Yung and while talking about production let me throw light on A-Town and all the producers on the Acheampong Boys tape.

You need to listen to the Acheampong boys by Bosom P-Yung out now on all platforms.
