Divine Ikubor, also known as Rema, a world-class performer and singer from Nigeria, has surpassed Wizkid’s previous record on the Billboard Hot 100.
Wizkid, the frontman and owner of Starboy, previously held the record for the highest-charting Nigerian song on the Billboard Hot 100. His smash song “Essence,” which featured Tems, an outstanding Nigerian singer, and Canadian pop star Justin Bieber, peaked at No. 9 situation on the diagram.
On March 21, 2023, the official billboard chart Twitter account provided an update on the events, announcing that Rema, who was 22 years old at the time, had broken Wizkid’s record in a chart dated March 25th, 2023.
The artist’s worldwide hit ‘Quiet Down,” which highlights Selena Gomez, crested at the No. 8th place, making it the highest-charting Nigerian song ever to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Best of luck, Remy Boy!
