Blaq Diamond, Yaw Tog, Gyakie, Others Battle For Honors At This Year’s Afrima Awards 2021

The international committee of the All Africa Music Awards has finally released the nominees’ list for this year’s awards. Thenominees’ list features artists in Africa and creatives living in the Diaspora. 

Leading this year’s nominations is South Africa’s Blaq Diamond with eight nominations namely: Best Male Artist In Southern Africa, Artist Of The Year In Africa, Song Of The Year In Africa, Producer Of The Year In Africa, Best Male Artist In African Inspirational Music, Breakout Artist Of The Year, Best Artist- Duo Or Group In African Pop, and Best African Duo- Group/Band.

South Africa’s new music sensation Focalistic also bagged seven nominations this year namely: Best Male Artist In Southern Africa, Artist Of The Year In Africa, Song Of The Year In Africa, Best Artist- Duo-Group/Band In African Electro, and Breakout Artist Of The Year. 

Gyakie had the highest nominations for the West African country this year namely: Best Female Artist In Western Africa, Best African Collaboration, and Best Artist – Duo-Group/Band in African R&B Soul. Other Ghanaian music stars that bagged anomination were Kidi, Stonebwoy, and Yaw Tog.

The 13 member jury that compiled the nominees’ list during the announcement said, “We believe we gave Africans and the world the very best nominations and songs in line with the 8,880 songs received under the year in review”. The awards event will be broadcast live in 109 countries from November 19th to November 21st
