Clearly, Northern Star, King Ayisoba is different from all the musicians we have come to know.
He has his very own unique style of doing music that has set him aside from the lot. He says the music he does is cherished and loved even beyond the borders of Ghana and that is the legacy he wants to leave.
He says as a musician, he does music to move forward in life and not backwards but a few collaborated songs he has done with Ghanaian musicians did not make as much impact.
Speaking to Giovanni, the I want To See My Father hit maker said;
“I have featured Samini, Sydney’s ‘Fa Me Sika Ma Me’, Kontihene and Kwabena Kwabena. But those songs did not cross the borders of Ghana. My song, ‘I Want to See My Father’, is the one that crossed into the international market. So, a hip life artiste who doesn’t make sensible songs but playful ones, I won’t agree to work with them.”
He adds that, he would not collaborate with any musician whose song does not make any sense.
“If you are a musician making music, do you want to move forward or backwards? Who doesn’t like to move forward? So, in Ghana, I can say I am different from the usual Ghanaian music. So my music is unique and different. And you can see my dressing and my clothes. So I cannot feature hip life artiste anyhow. I have to choose the one who is the best.”
To the best of your knowledge, what comes across as a song that does not make sense?
