Popular Ghanaian Hi-Life musician, Dada Hafco hs on Oneplay News seconded Nanky’s suggestion that Ghanaian musicians should do to the Hi-Life genre what Nigerians have done with Afrobeats.
Speaking on the topic with Oneplay Africa, Dada Hafco said that in order for the world to recognize Hi-life as the Ghanaian genre Ghanaian musicians and producers have to make a collective conscious effort to push that agenda. He cited examples with Hi-Life Gospel, Hi-LIFE Dancehall, to mention a few.
Dada Hafco added that the VGMA can expedite this process tremendously if they are to make Hi-Life the ultimate award of the night. That way artists will prioritize the genre over all others.
Hopefully, all these suggestions recently sparked again by Shatta Wale’s State of the Industry Address can be manifested.
