On the 9th of October 2020, the son of Africa album by Ghanaian star Kuami Eugene was released and within the first few days it had already recorded over 100,000 streams on music store Boomplay.
The album was also second (2nd) on Apple Music beating Nigerian’s Olamide and other artists.

Also videos of the Son of Africa Album by Kuami Eugene are still trending on youtube with Open gate the lead single chalking over three million views plus some beautiful comments from fans across Africa.
Before the release of the album, the Ghanaian star Kuami Eugene did mention that his target for the album was to take Hi-life music to the rest of Africa and boy, he has done it.
The 14 track album is a full representation of Ghanaian hi-life from contemporary to traditional. All the productions on the album makes a huge statement that the son of Africa is ready to take on the world but will his own people accept him?
Well, it obvious the 2020 Ghana music awards Artist of the year Kuami Eugene has been accepted by Africa as whole and they just opened the gate for him to lead the music way.
So far our curators at Oneplay Africa are still struggling to select their favorite song but show body ft Nigerian star Falz is leading the way.
Talking about songs off the album, Kuami Eugene chose his features carefully for this album.
With the likes of Eddy Kenzo, Zlatan, Falz as African features, the rockstar as he calls himself knew how to knock on the doors of Africa. Also the Ghanaian features such Sarkodie, Prince Bright, DJ Mensah, Obaapa Christy, Samini, Shatta Wale, also shows that he did not want to leave Ghana out of the whole fun as he tries to conquer Africa.

The choice of title for the album. Son of Africa is a very bold stand, one that comes with lot of pressure and hard work.

In the past we’ve heard so many artists say they are the Prince of Afrobeats, others say the prince of Africa but for the Ghanaian star to back his stand with such a body of work, we believe he is the true son of Africa.
Every song on Kuami Eugene’s Son of Africa album was carefully written, all samples were beautifully done to make sure you appreciate the song for it is intended to do.
